In the end I found it simpler to do a non ZeroInstall compilation. I
now have OroboROX fully stable again. I would be interested to know
just what it is that causes the problem. Is it in fact OroboROX itself,
or is it some interfacing problem?

I tend to stear clear of 0install aswell, as I use a diverse collection of systems, {Net,Free,Open}BSD, Linux, i686, amd64, sparc, ppc all with the same shared home direcory. But then I guess 0install isn't really aimed ad users like myself..if only everything was written in python :) then it would be a viable option.
