The background handling in 3.x pinboard makes upgrade
from 2.x unacceptible for people who use Enlightenment
0.16. Even with the unofficial Fluxbox patch that fixes
mouse wheel desktop switching ROX stays only on the
first desktop conflicting in the same time with
Enlightenment's own background handling (GDK-Pixbuf
aplications can't get root window pixmaps on all other
desktops when there is ROX Pinboard on the first).
A possible solution is to add new window manager
compatability option that forces 2.x style pinboard
(sticky icons on all desktops w/o own background).
Another solution, that can be mutch harder to implement
is to include Fluxbox mouse wheel patch, make pinboard
start sticky, and make it capable to get and use
Enlightenment's own backgrounds for different desktops.

This is almost certainly a bug in Enlightenment. ROX-Filer
works correctly with many other WMs, including metacity and
xfwm4 (which both support multiple workspaces).

You could try the 'Override' option in the Compatibility
section of the options box, but it would be better to get it
fixed. I suspect you'll see the same problems if you use
nautilus or kdesktop, which should indicate that it isn't a
    ROX issue.

If not, please reopen the bug...
