No

it happens when a directory with some files (usually
>20) is opened via rox-filer.

it works nice while it is making thumbnails for files
inside. and usually crashes when it is finished.

it causes an Xserver crash with code 11 and whole
Xserver drops me to console.

everything gets stable again on gtk 2.6.10

i tried
- recompiling rox after installing gtk 2.8.4 (also
2.8.3 and 2.8.0)
- reinstalling librsvg (seems to be a dependency for
rox when using svg support)
- installing rox 2.2.0 and 2.3.0
- using default gtk2 theme (it simply crashes less
frequently)

i use fvwm with rox as a pinboard manager.

it crashes only when opening directories via rox-filer.
and it is very random - sometimes those dirs open with
no problems, and sometimes i get a crash.

one more note - running rox-filer in debug mode causes
it to work stable. [?]

some people claim that it is actually GTK 2.8 bug with
some asserts in the code (no idea what this means)

i am using gentoo linux.

If your X server crashes then you've found a bug in X. You
should probably report that to the X people.

You could try running X in a debugger (or attaching to it
    from a console with 'strace -p <PID of XServer>').

There are some hints here (for x.org):

Was this solved? Will close this bug unless there is
evidence that it's a ROX-Filer problem rather than an X
    problem...

This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. It was
previously set to a Pending status, and the original submitter
did not respond within 14 days (the time period specified by
    the administrator of this Tracker).

I have similar symptoms here. This was seen on Rox-filer
2.4.x and now on 2.5, too. It happens when I browse some
"unbrowsed" directory for the first time, usually one with
lots of files and including images. This makes me think it's
thimbnail related but I can't make sure. Rox crashes my X
server and my screen lokcs up, so I have to reboot. Here is
some info on the system and the bug:

System: Slackware -current, gcc 3.4.6, kernel 2.6.16.20

I ran rox with --debug and directed output to a log file,
    but that didn't give much:

Please file a bug report on your X server. If X crashes, it
is a bug in X (possibly triggered by a bug in ROX-Filer, but
it's difficult to say while the X server is crashing).

    Thanks.
