October 29, 2008 - WowWee releases Rovio (news release). Also introduced in 2008 were Bladestar, FLytech Bat, Dragon and Fairy, ChatterBots, Femisapien, and Cubs.
October 13, 2009 - WowWee announces upgrades to Rovio firmware and new headlight accessory for low light situations (news release). Other 2009 releases by WowWee include JoeBot, Roborover, and the Cinemin projector.
January 26, 2010 - WowWee releases Firmware 5.03 (stable)
approx. August 2010 - WowWee discontinues Rovio product, no longer offers parts nor support.
February 2012 - Rovio open source (software & Hardware) project is created.
