Dear Rosegarden Team:
I just wanted to thank you for your hard work over the years. I'm using RG 1.6.1 and and having a great time with it.
I have an old PIII-500Mhz w/ 768M RAM
A MIDI-Sport 2x2
Yamaha PSR-E303 (Low end keyboard)
Yamaha MD-8 (Old 8 track Mini-disc Recorder)
I have the MD-8 Receiving MMC and send MTC via soundcard MIDI. I have my Yamaha IN/OUT MIDI going through the MIDI-sport. Everything is running beautifully! All the transports--software and hardware--are communicating as expected.
I've wanted to get this setup going for quite a while. Now I got it.
It's amazing what can be done with all of this old-school equipment.
I have some other goodies I plan to connect as well--in time. The core of my setup is complete though.
Why would I do all of this? I'm stubborn and I'm cheap. I've had the MD-8 for quite a while and I didn't want it to go to waste. I also didn't want to burden my poor computer with the overhead of audio recording and playback along with MIDI.
Thanks again. I am quite pleased with RG. I'm still too timid to go to RG 1.7 though.
