Did you use any MIDI in Ardour?

Do you have any MIDI apps making sound? If you do, then it maybe problem with Rosegarden configuration. If you don't khow any other MIDI app, maybe you should go find a simple MIDI app that works first before trying to get Rosegarden to work.

That doesn't help much in diagnosing your problem in this case, for lack of pertinent info about your MIDI setup.

Try booting up with Musix LiveCD/DVD and learn from it. Some of us can probably point you to the apps and configuration from Musix's setup if you have problem with that. Your current setup info is woefully in adequate to diagnose, and most people don't have time to do everthing for you. Musix LiveCD has already done all the hardwork, make good use of it.
