your problem probably isn't an audio problem, everything looks correct. It sounds like you have to set up
your rosegarden "studio".
Rosegarden for me is in Spanish, so the translations might be a little different.
First we'll try without Jack:
1. Go to rosegarden, now we want to open the list of MIDI devices.
In the menu, Click "Studio" -> "Select MIDI Devices". (The icon for this is a little keyboard with a green soundcard.)
You now have a window with a couple of lists: "Device" and "Connection"
The left hand list is the device name as it appears in rosegarden. The right hand list is the device name the computer sees.
The first entry should be "General MIDI Device". Select the drop-down box on the right and select the first entry that says "128:0 Timidity++".
2. Now go back to the main window. On the left you should have a box with controls in it.
Now find the drop down box next to the title "Playback settings". This selects which device each track plays back on.
Under this is the title "Instrument". This selects which instrument plays the track.
2a. Select a track and make sure it says "General MIDI Device".
2b. Select which instrument will play that track.
Repeat (2a and 2b) for every track.
3. Now hit the play button, you should have sound. :-)
4. If this works, a good idea is to SAVE the rosegarden file under a new name so that you don't lose your changes, or you have to do this every time.
Tell me how you go. If it works, we'll do the same thing with Jack next time.
> There's no sound with the Rosegarden examples (*.rg).
> A few facts:
> - Start of Jack Control is ok
> - Start of Rosegarden is ok. I can see *.rg or imported *.mid files
> (but not hear)
> - In Jack, I see connections from RG to timidity (see appended pic)
> - I did $rosegardensequencer.
> (2 times, without and with Jack)
> see appended txt file
> But I cannot get "Rosegarden Sequencer startet ok" at the end.
> So I have to cancel by Cntl+C...
>- I can alter *.mid files by RG and I can hear the alterated files
> with timidity or Totem-Video-Player
