I composed this for the Eriadain (sp?) project, as incidental dungeon music
for use in their Ultima IX remake. I don't think anything ever happened with
the game, but I dug this old piece up, and decided to do something fun with
So I rearranged it as a duet for the now two, count'em, brass instruments I
play. Trumpet and Eb tenor/alto horn (tenor in the UK, alto in the US).
This project suggested a number of improvements to Rosegarden I shall
endeavor to make over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, here's how it turned out. Not bad considering I've only had
the Eb horn for a couple of weeks, and have only been playing trumpet
methodically and seriously for just over a year.
I might de-merge some of the bits back into more discrete parts, and play them
It would be helpful to have some real drums too, but I have limits on cash,
and room in my music room, which is getting cramped already.
(Originally composed with Cakewalk or Noteworthy Composer, and later reworked
and recorded with Rosegarden, obviously.)
