I've been wrestling with a problem in Rosegarden for a few days, and I would
like to share it with you. So you can enjoy my troubles a bit, too.
I've tried to remove the checkboxes to enable bank, program and variation from
the Instrument Parameter Box, and replace them with a new entry <none> at
each combo box. This should work in theory, but in fact it fails at some
cases. Try this procedure:
- Import the definition for Roland-JV-80.rgd into your studio
- Assign any track to an instrument from this device
- Look at the Instrument Parameter Box. There is only a Bank combo, and not a
Program or Variation.
If you revert my changes to the IPB, or use Rosegarden-1.2.4 with the same
procedure, you will find that the bank combo appears grayed and the checkbox
not selected. If you check it then the combo appears enabled, and another
program combo becomes visible, although grayed and the checkbox unchecked.
I can't find where this instrument definition is broken, or if it triggered a
bug on Rosegarden. With the checkboxes, it was possible to work with this
device definition, but now it feels very wrong. Any help and comments would
