If I create a new composition from scratch, the synth plugin bits work fine.
If, however, I try to load one of the example files, I get no sound out of
any synth plugins.
No particular error messages, nothing unusual happening in the GUI, just no
noise. It's the same condition synth plugins start off in, in that sort of
limbo state before you hit play for the first time and nudge the underlying
guts into working.
In my current state, the underlying guts can't ever be nudged into working.
All the synth-plugin-related .rg files I created before some mystery turning
point exhibit this behavior.
I'm currently running the same source I compiled when I was working on
"Emergence" a few weeks ago. No changes, although I did recently rebuild it
against new libs. It's 1.0 release with one small patch to shut up my
bitching about audio looping.
The synth plugins in "Emergence" aren't working either. The audio is fine
I wonder what's up. Any clues? Any idea how building against new libs could
have broken this somehow? New DSSI from CVS, although DSSI hadn't actually
changed much, if actually at all. (I did this as part of making up those
fake Debian packages for Marcos, so I got the latest CVS stuff from the
various DSSI modules). There might have been a new liblo0 package in a
recent upgrade too. I can't think of anything else I've done since then, and
hell, my computer is still running since whenever I did all that too, with
most of the same crap floating around in memory as a couple months ago.
I'm a bit baffled.
