Hi -- I am doing some testing with trunk and am trying to figure out how continuous controller rulers work in the matrix editor -- doesn't seem to be the same as it is in the current stable release (1.7.3). If I add a control ruler, it doesn't seem to do anything, and I don't see how I can assign to a controller channel (like channel 7 for volume or channel 11 for expression). Is this something still in development? -- Brett ------------------------------------------------------------ "In the rhythm of music a secret is hidden; If I were to divulge it, it would overturn the world." -- Jelaleddin Rumi |

Is this something still in development? Very much so. Chris Fryer has been working on this for quite some time now, but the rulers were a complete train wreck, and no simple matter to put back in working order. In the process, they're not only getting a new lease on life, but a complete rethink with tons of new from scratch code. This is one of the last big subprojects we need to clear out of the way before we can get into release mode. I don't think the "controller n" ruler works at all yet. You can get a taste of what's coming looking at the velocity and pitch bend rulers. The pitch ruler in particular isn't that obvious to figure out in this early form, and the trick to it is to select the arrow tool, then the pencil tool, and then click on the ruler (with the same pencil used to draw on the matrix, rather than the rulers having a completely separate set of control mechanisms). -- D. Yeah, I got the pitchbend to work, it's definitely better than the damn bars ... my suggestion here, though, would be to have some kind of curve connecting the points, it makes it more obvious, kind of like in this screenshot of an expression CC from Digital Performer: http://www.iktools.com/Picts/tips-04/Fig-4_3.jpg Be nice to get away from the bars! Although for velocity the bars are fine since velocity isn't a CC. -- Brett ------------------------------------------------------------ "In the rhythm of music a secret is hidden; If I were to divulge it, it would overturn the world." -- Jelaleddin Rumi |

I might monkey around with some of the code... got it all loaded on my dev laptop I use for work so it doesn't interfere with my studio stuff.... -- Brett ------------------------------------------------------------ "In the rhythm of music a secret is hidden; If I were to divulge it, it would overturn the world." -- Jelaleddin Rumi |
