Hello Lars, Thank you for using Rosegarden. To address some of your concerns and issues. > 1. This is a known issues and involves several issues at play in 1.7.3. Most of this has been resolved in RG Thorn. Here is the biggest culprit for most that you can fix in RG 1.7.3 Make certain in Studio -> Manage MIDI Devices that there is only one playback device connected to the port your Roland product is connected to. If more than one playback device is allowed to talk to the port, then what actually gets sent to the port in undefined (a race condition is present). This may need to be checked on each RG startup in 1.7.3. > > 2. When I use step recording in the matrix editor, I always > struggle > to get it working. I can not duplicate this in RG 1.7.3. Can not duplicate this in Thorn. > > Finally I have a few feature requests, that I think would > really > improve the program for people using it the way I am: > > 3. A patch selection window! Sorry. This has been requested many times. OOmidi (An RG Fork of 1.7.3) has this feature and is tentatively slated to be ported to RG Thorn. Would like to have this myself. But this is not a trivial request given RG's low level design structure. > > 4. Step recording option to use midi velocity instead of a > fixed > velocity! Yes, I agree this would be nice, and would not be difficult to implement. I would like to see this as well. Unfortunately, most of the developers, me included, are busy with other things. There just isn't any one available to do this. I will keep it on my short list of things to do, though. It would be very handy to grab the velocity instead of only using fixed values. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Julie S. |
