1) I'm playing the example "aveverum.rg" (on the XO) through the Korg X5D; it works, except: track 5 (Soprano) is a tone lower than the other tracks, but I can't account for the difference. For example, both track 5 (Soprano) and track 6 (Alto) are mapped to bank 0, program 83 (VeloFlugel). Yet, 6 (Soprano) is a tone lower than 5. I didn't edit anything other than program assignment. I'm stumped. Perhaps my lack of RG knowledge is showing, and it's something trivial and obvious. 2) After I import the Korg-x5dr.rgd bank, its programs are listed in the dropdown list of the "Instrument Parameters" section in a really bad sort: 1, 11, 21, 31, 41, ..., 91, 102, 2, 12, 22, 32, ..., 92, 103, 3, 13, 23, 33, ..., 93, etc. Any way to correct this? BTW, this makes me think of Perl. Anyone tried to integrate Perl into the inner RG operations? Admittedly i haven't examined RG source in earnest (probably has something to do with my not speaking C nor C++), but if handling arrays and hashes is a tedium -- perhaps worth a go? Perl kicks ass when it comes to handling lists/hashes ("hash" in Perl definition), and it's king of regular expressions and text handling (any type of custom, crazy sorting and pattern matching is quick and powerful) Would such an integration/pluggability be possible at all? I see "Getopt::Long File::Copy File::Basename XML::Twig" in src/helpers/rosegarden-project-package -- i forget if Twig is required or optional. (yes, i realize, Perl and C are like apples and oranges -- or perhaps even like pears and guava preserves; but if C/C++ forces coding tedium for useful, powerful algorithms that in Perl are a cinch to code ...?) thanks andrew |
