Run alsamixer from the command line and look for either PCM or WAVE - if either of these are set to 85-100 bring them down to 50 to start with and see if that stops the distortion; 85-100 does cause distortion on my old Soundblaster live (dont laugh!). This is assuming that the audigy card looks similar to the soundblaster live in alsamixer - which no doubt it will not. John T. PS having a kernel compiled with a 1KHz system timer is always a good idea. However you should find that feisty already has a low latency kernel in the repositories. This has the 1KHz option already set. You might want to try this. |
