I thought Ubuntu was quite n00b-friendly? I succeeded in installing a whole OS wi-fi connected in less than two hours while i had been unable to make it under Debian or DemuDi in three months... (yes, kernel compiling is what i'm worst at) Anyway, for rosegarden, I made the installation again and everything was ok. I didn't check what was the latency, though. since i use a midi keyboard as input (CME usb) and a phase 88 as output, i sure want it to be low-latency. Can an Ubuntu kernel be recompiled with some DemuDi goodies? (i think yes, but im a bit afraid of my own thoughts since they led me to total reinstallation several times) cyrill. --- Pedro Lopez-Cabanillas <ped...@gm...> wrote: > On Monday, 3 July 2006 20:42, tim hall wrote: > > On Monday 03 July 2006 17:46, Pedro Lopez-Cabanillas was like: > > > If you are an absolute beginner, perhaps it would be easier for you to > > > switch to a newbie friendly distribution. > > > > Are you being ironic Pedro?-) > > No, I'm not.
