Without implementing a "special" feature to do this explicitly we already have almost usuable complete functionality of this kind of thing (if I'm understanding the problem right). For example, create a bar length Segment with the required pattern, quick copy it (hold down ctrl and drag while using the pointer tool or copy and paste from the menu) and then edit the new Segment. To rejoin these segments we need to get the "glue" tool working. Additionally we should add a "roll out repeating Segments" action such that you can simply add a one bar Segment with a rhythm in it, make it repeat until the end of the composition (Segment parameter box) and then turn the repeats into real copies. Again then a glue tool would be good for joining all these Segments together. Both the glue tool and rolling out repeats should be part of our work for the next release and are pretty trivial. BTW this reminds me, we/I should fix repeating segments too so they actually repeat to the composition end marker and not just the end of the last added segment. B |
