That's the way it's always been, though -- intermittent.  That's Free Software 
for you.  The work ebbs and flows.  Until someone devises a reliable way to 
work on it full time and also eat, there's no point in getting worked up 
about whether it's going quickly enough.

This reminds me, perhaps next year we could try to submit a feature for Google's Summer of Code (http://code.google.com/soc/ )
