KMidimon 0.6.0 was ported to KDE4 and released in December 2008, where the package has languished. KMidimon is an important diagnostic tool used by Rosegarden developers for debugging purposes. It is especially important for field tests when users encounter obscure problems.

Rosegarden users will be making use of KMidimon as circumstances require, and this causes an indirect KDE3 dependency, while also depriving users of the most recent, bug free and up to date version of KMidimon.

While this is not a Rosegarden bug, it is our hope that this bug report can help demonstrate the importance of KMidimon to the community, so it can get dusted off and freshened up.

Thank you Debian, Ubuntu, et al. for your attention to this matter.

This is probably totally irrelevant now. Closing.
