I know that is easy to open a zip/xml file to do this, but to rename audiofiles can help when you have to deal with others audio software or backup, for instance.
A sensible enough request. I've added it to my list of random little things to do one day when I'm bored with hard work, and looking for something easy to do. I have no idea of a timeframe estimate, whether before or after Thorn and so on, but if I don't lose track of the idea I might actually do it in the next few days. I've dealt with most of the pieces involved with this quite recently, and have a fairly clear roadmap what this would require.
I'll note that you can also save a file out, and in so doing, give it a sensible name. But renaming would be more intuitive, and less involved.
Now that I've taken a look at this, I think the audio file manager is such a miserable pile of crap that I should defer any further thoughts of adding a rename function until after taking a bit of time to make the whole thing more presentable and usable.
After Thorn, I'm afraid.
