ROSA is an Open Source Agent (ROSA) / News: Recent posts

We now have some ideas about what we'll use in creating ROSA and we started to write the code. The work on the graphic section has also been started. As is seems for now, we will be using "festival" as a speech engine for the first versions of ROSA.

We are now using the GNU General Public Licence for distributing ROSA. We initially wanted to use the IBM public licence but now GPL seems to be a better solution. We will put some thought into a commercial licence later (the open licence will remain)... something like MySQL maybe.

Ionut Daneasa has joined the ROSA project as a graphic designer. Ionut (aka xionutz2k) is an award winning Romanian computer artist. He will take care of ROSA's look. Please stay tuned to see the results of our work.

Laurentiu Matei started this project after attending Catalin Buiu's AI course at the "Politehnica" University in Bucharest.
We intend to develop a speech engine, a voice recognition engine and a conversational robot for now. Wish us luck!
We are now only planning this huge project. Very soon we'll need some help, so stay tuned!
