The software and documentation of the RooFit package is available in http://roofit.sourceforge.net/ . However, it they also available in http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/roofit .

Some of the documentation on the sourceforge site looks very out of date. e.g. the RooFit User Guide in http://roofit.sourceforge.net/docs/RooFit_Users_Manual_2.07-29.pdf is for version 2.07 and is only 69 pages long. Whereas the version in ftp://root.cern.ch/root/doc/RooFit_Users_Manual_2.91-33.pdf is for version 2.91 and is 134 pages long.

On the other hand, the sourceForge site contains some nice RooFit tutorials http://roofit.sourceforge.net/docs/tutorial/index.html that are not present on the CERN site.

What is the purpose of maintaining two independent sites, with independent documentation for RooFit ? Is it not possible to mirror the documentation between the two sites, to ensure that it remains up to date ?

Thanks,
Ian Tomalin
