For me with Firebug 3.6 it works. Please add some more informations about the setting.

After talking with Alex this is should be a problem in grasp. It only appears under MacOS (snow leopard) with Firefox 3.0.3 and 3.6.3.

Could you please be more specific why do you think the problem is in Graaasp? If I am not mistaking all the other gadgets are resized properly. If it is a problem with graaasp, the other widgets would also have problems ?

For me (Mac OS snow leopard 10.6.3 and firefox 3.6.3) it seems to be working. When not logged-in

I tested it in firefox 3.6.3 on Windows 7 (and XP) and I have now problems. So I asked Alex and he tested it with the Rolespace, a single graasp-version of the widget and he tested the same widget in our LIVE-Version http://role-is.dbis.rwth-aachen.de/role/wkm/. In the LIVE-Version everything works. So it is a problem with graasp (eventually the combination of graasp with the widget). In the both graasp-Versions it doesn't work.

I'm sorry, but I have no Mac so I can't make more tests.

The widget seems to work fine standalone in Graaasp and in Bodo's live-version, but crashes Firefox in ROLE Space (when logged in).
    MacOS 10.6.3, Firefox 3.6.3

What do you mean widget seems to work fine in Bodo's live-version? Does live-version have widgets container?

Alex, do the other widgets work ok for you in Rolespace? If so, then the problem is most probably in Bodo's widget, not in graaasp.

  • Bodo von der Heiden

    My live-version it's a hard-coded widget-area.

But, the point is, that my widget work fine in graasp standalone. Only in bundle 2 (in rolespace) there is a problem.

    Graaasp and Rolespace are different.
The way widget are initialized is also different.

When exactly the problem happens? When you open a tab with the widget or when you try to maximize the widget?

  • Alexander Mikroyannidis

    These are the steps:
I switch to Bundle 2, maximise the Knowledge Map widget so that I can log in, I log in with "test/test", the widget loads and then Firefox crashes.
My suspicion is this is caused by a conflict with another widget. Ideally, I should be able to delete widget after widget till I find the culprit but this functionality is not available.

What you can try to do is
(All actions here in graaasp, not in rolespace)
    1) Create account in graaasp (if you didn't already)
    2) login into graaasp with this account
    3) Create a space on the right ("plus" button)
    4) Click on newly created space
    5) add a tool ("plus" button)
    6) choose format "google gadget"
    7) paste url of a gadget (for example, wkm)
    8) you can also remove this gadget (there is a button delete)

    Go now to the rolespace
You should see your space and your gadgets in it!
Then you could try to remove some gadgets or add new in graaasp and see what happens.

I'd do it myself, but I can't reproduce the bug.

It is also known that firefox after some time might to start to behave badly and user has to reboot it (in a sense that to remove completely the profile and create a new one)

I had to do it once!

For example, now my firebug crashes after some time at work computer and works always perfectly on laptop (everything is the same on both :))

  • Alexander Mikroyannidis

    I've followed Evgeny's instructions and created a new Graaasp account: alexmikro@gmail.com / test123
Now, in ROLE Space I only have one tab with ONLY the WKM gadget. Firefox crashes again either right after I log in to WKM, or after I change the size of the gadget (being logged in).
This is clearly a problem with the gadget in ROLE Space.

I have done the same with vonderheiden@zlw-ima.rwth-aachen.de/rolespace and this version works. I have no idea about the problem.

  • Bodo von der Heiden

@alex: Which ULR do you use for the WKM-Widget?

  • Bodo von der Heiden

@vohtaski: Is there a way to get the used URL to the XML-File of a widget?

  • Bodo von der Heiden

@alex: there are no problems if you are loggin into graasp with vonderheiden@zlw-ima.rwth-aachen.de/rolespace right?
