Using Arduino

I'm still debating whether to buy or build a processor board for this project, and I am starting to think that Arduino http://arduino.cc is starting to look like a good platform to build on, as an alternative to creating our own CPU board.

Pro

• All the integration work is done. Not much left to build
• It's cheap. Freetronics http://www.freetronics.com and Jaycar http://www.jaycar.com.au sell the "eleven" board for around $A40.00
• It's well known and supported

Con

• The number of I/O lines on the basic cards is limited, so we don't get the clean design separation.
