Hi Geoff and Everyone, Good point on the HW versus SW angle and it is worth discussing. First, although SF is strictly speaking a SW development forum, there are lots = of combined hardware/software projects (autopilot, robotics, R/C, etc). The ignitor will have (in the not too distant future!) a microcontroller = with code stored in flash and other avionic assemblies will undoubtedly have = both HW and SW so that fits reasonably well with SF. On the other hand there = is lots of rocket stuff that is purely mechanical but would still be open source. Furthermore, even purely mechanical designs need to be = documented and revision controlled, and CSV is very handy for that. Sourceforge = seems kind of convenient for all types of designs in my mind, but the most important point is that I would vastly prefer to keep all of Arockets community efforts in one place whether it be pure software for rocket development (simulation, propulsion, CFD, etc), HW/SW for avionic or electromechanical, or pure hardware. I guess the alternative to SF is to create a project area on Arocket that has CSV for version control.=20 What do you folks think? Geoff, from your email you seem to be of the = mind to keep Rocketworkbench SW only as far as I can see. Happy New Year to all, and may you complete all of the projects you = start this year!
