I added myself to the group roccat and now I got rid of the GaminggearDevice-Error. Now I get the error "Error creating directory: Keine Berechtigung" when saving changes. I also deleted the dir /var/lib/roccat/ afterwards, to no success. The directory doesn't get recreated. Somehow the eventhandler doesn't work as well.
Thanks in advance!

Could be that the package you installed didn't create the folder at all or with the wrong access rights. In this case please report this to the packager.
Also the roccat-tools version in the suse repo seems to be outdated. Actual version is 2.2.0

Thanks a lot! Rebuilding worked so far. I'll contact the packager, though.
The only thing that doesn't seem to work right now is the eventhandler. Any ideas?

Be aware that the eventhandler also needs /var/lib/roccat. After rebuilding the folder a relogin is needed for the eventhandler to restart.
If autostart still fails for some reason, start roccateventhandler in the shell and have a look if some error message comes up.

Had several restarts. Process roccateventhandler is automatically started, but fails to work. I tested it with timer and easy-shift for both devices. I killed the process and started roccathandler in verbose mode. If I do so I get no messages at all. I tried running it as root and I got this message:
(roccateventhandler:4161): WARNING : dbus_roccat_register_service: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
(roccateventhandler:4161): WARNING : There is already an instance running
I don't really know why I get "There is already an instance running", because there IS no instance running. Could it be a security issue (AppArmor)?

I can confirm exctly this for opensuse tumbleweed x64 with roccat kone xtd drivers from the official rpms....

You have a problem with dbus. It might have to do with the mentioned "message bus security policy". I don't know what Suse-specific things to do to fix this.
The additional message saying that an instance is running is just a follow up relying on an undefined value. I'll fix that code.

Well, I got some time and uninstalled the RPMs. Afterwards I manually installed the latest releases of libgaminggear and roccat-tools. It works splendid! Seems like the RPMs provided by OpenSuse are not working properly.
I also found two very minor bugs: "Open driver" for the IskuFX opens the GUI always twice. Also the GTK-GUI of the KoneXTD is a bit oversized. It doesn't fit on a 1080p display.
Thank you very much for your fast help. I won't regret buying this kick ass gear :)

did you use version 3.0?
I also want to try that route without the rpms to get eventhandler working.
Is compiling the roccat-tools enough?
Is libgaminggear build together with it, so that I have to remove the libgaminggear.rpm also or could it work with the pre-installed libgaminggear.rpm?

The issue with open-driver will be fixed in the next release. Thanks for reporting.
The Window of konextdconfig is 735x724 on my system. Maybe I find a better way to organize the elements. Until then you can move your window with ALT+RightMouseButton around.

Hi there,
I got myself a new fancy KoneXTD Optical and an IskuFX. I installed the tools from the official "hardware" repository of OpenSuse 13.2. After installation I got the same issue as stated in http://sourceforge.net/p/roccat/discussion/989581/thread/b07b4541/?limit=25#e9a8
