I successfully installed roccat-tools and added myself to roccat group but
when launching keyboard configuration I get the message "Can't read actual
profile: GaminggearDevice: error opening /dev/hidraw2 for key hidraw0:
Permission denied".
What I did was run arvoconfig with sudo and applied my macros but they dont
seem to work.. (root is added to the roccat group).

Don't start the configuration tools as root.
Add yourself to group roccat -> you did that already.
Delete the folder /var/lib/roccat to get rid of files with wrong permissions you created while running the tools as root.
RELOGIN to apply the new group membership.
You also have to REPLUG the device for the newly installed udev rules to be applied.
Alternatively just reboot the machine.
Now start the configuration tool again and everything should work.
