Update 
In the cons section on for gumstix in Prerequisites it does mention requiring a separate
battery pack as a con for iCreate/gumstix option, But I can not find anything else on
your site about this battery.
Gumstix recommends 5 volts  for their computers.
there appears to be two locations where the power could be connected
does it make a difference?
