I would like an option to auto-reconnect to a GPSd server until successful at 5-10 second intervals instead of disabling it when the connection is lost for some reason. Currently a user must go into RoadNav preferences and reselect the GPSd device to re-enable it after a read error or other network error, which is an inconvenient process.
It looks like this functionally was originally added in version 0.12, but may have been inadvertently removed with version 0.15 of RoadNav. As of version 0.18 & 0.19 of the software I tested, there is no functionality to reconnect to a remote GPSd server if the connection drops for some reason.
I have a WiFi connection to a 'remote' (as in not the localhost) GPSd server located inside of a vehicle. Sometimes the WiFi signal drops momentarily (or roadnav throws a GPS read error) - and RoadNav disables the GPS device. It would be nice to have RoadNav reconnect automatically after a short delay instead of requiring menu navigation to re-enable the device.
Thank you for your time with this feature request,
