BUG: http_cache directory does not preserve original tree layout.
"/" in pathname is replaced with "." in filename. This means you
can't trick the program into working around the size problem by
changing the URL for map downloads by pointing to a copy of the
cache. Maybe not necessary if you keep the cache files in the
cache format, for roadnav, though it prevents you from re-using the
same data with another program (such as roadmap). Anyway, this
would still be too big for single layer DVD or 8GB hard drive.
