Though I think any spread sheet isn't really suitable for such a complex task as a Rolemaster character tool...

Would anybody want a OpenOffice / StarOffice version of rmprot?

I think of first taking rmcode to OpenOffice. That would allow using existing character records in OpenOffice. You wouldn't have the rmhelper convenience stuff, though. That means you would have to develop levels manually (keeping track of dev points spent, adding ranks and developed power points / hits, etc.). Creating new character records wouldn't be possible, since makerm wouldn't be available, too. Setting options would be hard since the options dialogs wouldn't be available.

So, what would be available? Stat gain, development (with above restrictions), and printing. Basically everything you need once a character has been created. In fact this would allow Linux users to create their character in Excel under Windows, take it to OpenOffice and Linux and maintain it there.
