      i've tried, all the folder are selected for Java, but it still doesn't show
      the subfolders for example under desktop. I have also tried to move the
      file .rmo on the desktop or in one of the main folders shown under "open
      character" windows. The file are not shown in the dialogue window.

    Can you please test the attached version? I have no Mac so I cannot test it. I replaced the file dialog by another one.

    Thanks for feedback. I need some time to figure out that everything is still working with the new FileDialog. I recognized some sizing problems with high resolution monitor. But I'm working on it.

      will be fixed with new version 4.3.21 (I try to release it as soon as
      possible).
      I've changed the file dialog for MacOS to AWT and for the rest as default
      to Swing.

      Via user.preferences it is possible to change the style:

      file dialog style

      default=awt for MacOS, swing for everything else

      awt=AWT file dialog

      swing=Swing file dialog

      This seems not to work with MacOS with ventura updatefile_dialog_style=default
