Ok.. sounds like you guys want file output... I think thats a good idea... the rlib_spool simply writes a stored buffer out stdout... Maybe.. I need to look at it a tad closer.. but I have 1000's of emails to get to after being away 6 days.... I was hoping python/perl bindings would be the command line version of rlib... but If you want to clean up test2, call it something else and make it more generic I would accept it - bob On Wed, 2003-10-29 at 15:24, John Buckman wrote: > I've written a command line version of rlib. Hello again, I can output the example just fine. I have imported a bunch of other tables to test this on our actual data. What I am getting is either an error message or 0's in any field type other than varchar(x) or char(x). Field types I am trying this on include tinyint(3) and int(11). One example - tbl_country.countryID is auto_increment, tinyint(3), not null Using some of the functions and here are the results ceil(countryID) result = 1 abs(countryID) result = 0 val(countryID) result = !ERR_F countryID with Format="'%d'" result = 0 Using MySQL 3.23 simple query of "SELECT tbl_country.* FROM tbl_country" Any thoughts? Think I am missing something pretty fundamental here....... Andrew |

Update: I have changed the extension_dir in php.ini to reflect the path of libr-php.so.And also added in extension=libr-php.so in php.ini. I also got rlib in "Additional Modules" of phpinfo() page. One note for users of MySQL 4.1. For mysql support in rlib, please check whether your have installed MySQL-devel rpm package. Dear Friends, I am try to use RLib with PHP 4.3.3 / Apache 2 on Redhat Linux.I have added libr-php.so to the php.ini. The location of php.ini is /usr/local/lib. I have linked libr-php.so in /usr/local/lib to libr-php-1.1.2.so which is in /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20020429/. When i use "php -m" in /usr/local/lib, rlib module is listed. But when i use "php -m" elsewhere, i am getting the following error : --------------------------------------------------------- PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library './libr-php.so' - ./libr-php.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 --------------------------------------------------------- Please kindly help me. Thanks is advance. With Regards Santhanam |

The command line will output to a file then? Very nice.. That will do wonders for scheduling reports to run in batches. Thanks!!! Still no luck with PHP? Andrew -----Original Message----- From: rli...@li... [mailto:rli...@li...]On Behalf Of John Buckman Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 3:25 PM To: rli...@li... Subject: [Rlib-users] here it is... command line version of rlib I've written a command line version of rlib. Since most of the report definition is in the xml file, all that's left are db connection settings, xml filename, sql query, and output type. The source code is attached as "test2.c". If you replace tests/test2.c with this, and "make test2" you'll have it. When you run it, you'll see: [root@www tests]# ./test2 /opt/tmp/rlib-1.1.2/tests/.libs/lt-test2 requires 7 arguments: hostname username password database xml-filename output-format sql-query You provided 0 Here's a simple example of it in use: ./test2 localhost root pass magnatune report3.xml html "SELECT artist, album, FROM visa" >test2.html You're welcome to include this in the rlib distribution -- it seems really handy to me. -john |
