Mark, I have been working on a windows port. I'm down to a few problems such as strfmon. What other OS's are you targeting? Keep in mind rlib wraps a lot of stuff w/ glib calls to make it portable. - bob On Sat, 2005-03-12 at 14:50 +1100, Mark Parssey wrote: > Bob, et al > > I contribute to an open source php project (phpaga which is a web-based > project/task tracking and invoice management solution) and am looking at > approp. tool to improve the flexibility of the report generation, csv > creation etc.. > > rlib looks like an ecellent tool for that purpose. > > But phpaga is OS independent while rlib is POSIX. > > Is there any thought that you may be able to port rlib to that other OS. > > I can here you say why would anyone want to be running on that but > sometimes we're stuck with our history. > > Mark > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide > Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. > Discover which products truly live up to the hype. Bob, et al I contribute to an open source php project (phpaga which is a web-based project/task tracking and invoice management solution) and am looking at approp. tool to improve the flexibility of the report generation, csv creation etc.. rlib looks like an ecellent tool for that purpose. But phpaga is OS independent while rlib is POSIX. Is there any thought that you may be able to port rlib to that other OS. I can here you say why would anyone want to be running on that but sometimes we're stuck with our history. Mark |

I know RLIB is used in network appliances, course catalogs for college, some sort of telephone usage reporting, religious reporting, ect. This list goes on and on. Perhaps other people on the list can let you know what they uses it for. |

Dear Rlib Enlightened I am planning to use Rlib for one of the application which deals with NGO's, they require powerfull reporting tool embedded into their web app. Before going for the drill I had some questions 1. Does Rlib support automatic pagination where all the headers get repeated on all page 2. Total for all pages. 3. Some example where Rlib is being used. -- With Best Regards, Vishal Kashyap. Hey All, I'm happy to announce the release of RLIB 1.3.2 RLIB 1.3.2 introduces a brand new GPL'd PDF generation library called RPDF. This means that RLIB is now 100% GPL'd. RLIB 1.3.2 also restores python and java functionality. The error checking has been greatly improved in the engine. Documentation is now included in the release. Some minor problems have been worked out in the graphing engine. Download it from the usual place. And enjoy the 1st version of RLIB which doesn't need CPDF!!!!!!!!!! At this time I think we are getting very close to the next official stable release. We will probably only have one or two more "unstable" versions. ALSO: Could a few of you out there share some example reports you created in RLIB? Right now here @ SICOM the best we have is counting food and cars :) - bob |

Carol, The 1st query passed to RLIB is typically the "main loop" query. This determines the # of rows RLIB will loop through in the detail section. If you don't want the 1st report to be the main loop query in the <Report> tag you can set "query='some_name'" On Tue, 2005-03-08 at 10:53 -0700, Carol Fouse wrote: > I have several queries in the report that I am working on. Hi Bob, Ok, great. I wasn't sure how it was inititialized as I'm not all that familiar with glib. I'm including another patch that's a little more adventurous. It allows retrieval of errors messages from the input source. As I only have mysql installed at the moment, the postgre and odbc input's don't actually return an error message. Comments welcome. Note, this patch is not against your latest release, but the one from last week. So, although Roadsend's premier product is the compiler, we still do consulting and software development work. This project is a reporting engine for a school district that uses the SchoolMax system and various other data sources (as well as Roadsend SiteManager and Portal system). All, If you have a moment could you try out rlib 1.3.2 again http://www.sicom.com/~bdoan/rlib-1.3.2.tar.gz There are a bunch of fixes from the last time (Including a RPDF problem) Documentation is included in the tarball and will build if you have db2pdf on your system. There are also about 10-15 possible crashes fixed as well. Also the Python and JAVA bindings work again! (PERL almost works) let me know what you think - bob |

Hi Thanks for the patch! I applied the patch minus the "r->queries_count = 0;" because the struct is bzero'd when its initialized. It also motivated me to fix a few other crashing situations if the actual query failed to run. Curiosity question. Forgot to add the third parameter in the iif functions. But basically that's how I'd like to implement iif. Hi, folks. Is it possible to use the iif function to determine how I display the contents of a field? For example, I have a "Wins" column and a "Losses" column. <field value="iif(query.action=='W', query.wins)", col="2"' /> <literal width="1" /> <field value="iif(query.action=='L', query.losses)", col="3" /> Currently, I'm getting an error for implementing something like this. -Al |
