Thanks Christian,

	After running yum install php-devel I get "Error: No matching  
Packages to list." So I tried yum update and of course still not love.  
The system was setup by someone else and does have php-5.2.6 already  
installed. I am beginning to think that they did something non-std  
that is causing all of this grief.

	I am leery to do anything too drastic as it is a production box.

	Really do appreciate that you and Bob have taken the time to try and  
help me out.
