[Rlib-users] I am having problems compiling from source

... I succesfully ./configure --disable-python, and then make.
But when it comes to make install, the process aborts with the following error:

/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.1/../../../../i586-suse-linux/bin/ld:
cannot find -lr

installing it

I am using PostgreSQL, but I doubt it has anytihing to do with it.

I later tried configuring WITHOUT  php support and it works OK, what am I doing
wrong?
