When running rkhunter 1.30 beta with the option --cronjob no output is generated. This behaviour is different compared to versions before (e.g. 1.29). Why? How can I see the results?

By default when using the '--cronjob' option, no terminal output is produced. The normal logfile will still be present though.

When running RKH via cron you need to specify other options to control the output. Typically I would suggest using:

    rkhunter --cronjob --rwo

This will then only display any warnings found.

If you *really* want to see the usual interactive output, then use:

    rkhunter --nocolors --sk --check

There is a bug with the '--nocolors' option when used via cron, so you will get some odd characters appearing. This has been fixed in CVS, so you could download that version if you prefer.

    John.

Thanks for the tips. It was just because of the different behaviour to 1.29. But your suggestions are fine.
