rkhunter seems to use sed in a way that is not recognized
locally. I have sed-4.1.5-3mdv2008.1 on Mandriva Cooker 2008.1.

Performing filesystem checks
sed: -e expression #1, char 6: unknown option to `s'
Checking /dev for suspicious file types [ None found ]
sed: -e expression #1, char 6: unknown option to `s'
sed: -e expression #1, char 6: unknown option to `s'
Checking for hidden files and directories [ None found ]

I will attach a compressed debug log.

Your attachment is a tar file, not bzip2 :-)

You haven't used the '--debug' option correctly:

[12:52:45] Info: Command line is /usr/local/bin/rkhunter -c -sk --debug

The --debug option *must* be the first option on the command line otherwise it doesn't work. Can you re-run RKH with the option and attach the debug log please.

    Closing as invalid.
As discussed by direct e-mail it was apparently caused by setting root to "/".

Fixed in CVS. Current users experiencing the problem can of course just unset the ROOTDIR option.
    Tested under Fedora 7.
