Hi,

I'm using Xubuntu, with ripperX 2.8.0, but I think the bugs I'm reporting here are not corrected in 2.8.1:

  • Most important bug: As a newbie, I started the soft, selected all tracks, clicked on "rip+encode". The soft ran for 15 minutes, and I obtained a directory with only a .m3u file... After investigation, I discovered that, by default, ripperX is configured to use lame even if it is not installed&greyed out, thus it ripped all the tracks, failed to encode them, then removed all the .wav (as it is the default config too).
=> would be preferable to check for bad configs (e.g. asking to rip with lame when not installed) and prevent starting the process, rather than run uselessly for 15 minutes... Or at least select OrgVorbis encoder if it is the only one available by default...

  • When entering manually the names of the tracks, I use the Down Arrow key or Tab to move to the next track. Unfortunately, when I reach the end of the visible part of the list of tracks and hit one of these keys, the selection actually goes to the next track, but since it is out of the screen, I cannot see what I'm typing :[ Would be better to recenter the visible part of the list of tracks to the currently selected track, everytime a change in the selected track is occurring.
