Am I correct in assuming the Cali works as a usb storage (but that what prevents it from being used without rioutils is the firmware)? Because Ubuntu does not recognize my Cali no matter what I do, even removing the SD card does not help. It usually recognizes usb storage devices (without an fstab entry!).
I have tried every combo I could think of similar to:
sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /media/rio
but I always get the following error:
mount: special device /dev/sdb1 does not exist
can anyone help me? I am using a Rio Cali 256 with a 512 SD card. I am eager to delete my windows partition for good, but i can't do it without finding a replacement for RioMusicManager. Yeah yeah, I know the Cali is a dinosaur but I love my Calisaurus! I got AAA rechargeable batteries and everything! Im reluctant to throw it away and buy some new and less durable reptile since the Cali would really meet all of my needs.
Sorry, i figured it out, i needed to use:
sudo rioutil -l
However, it may be preventing me from using a GUI, jrioutil exits with errors and I can't even get krioutils to make...Anybody know?
