Hi Guys It's been pretty quiet recently (I've been traveling so I haven't had much time to do stuff). What is the status of things you are working on ? I've added a sandbox directory to the top level directory of the subversion repositry. You can use this directory to check in incomplete code so we can have a look at it and maybe help you finish it and it won't break the build of the main source tree. I will have some time soon so I can help finish some of these projects. I am also going to go through the main source tree and add more comments. Mike - xml parser Selman - backend access via soap,rpc,corba...etc Mohammed - replacement for Apache HttpClient come on guys lets make some progress :-) regards damian |

Hi Guys Here's an update. Version 1.2 added the <application> tag as the root element and a <configuration> tag as a child of <application>. This allows us to provide plugin configurators. I have added a configurator for Substance and use the Substance look and feel in the online demo. Check out the online demo at http://www.ribax.org/demo to see some of the ways that Substance can make the GUI look really sexy - way too cool! Basically there are Themes, Skins and Watermarks (including image watermarks) and the colours can be modified by tint, tone, shade, saturation or hue-shift and inverted or negated. The online demo uses only a few examples of the themes and skins available with Substance. Mike has got a small JDom parser working which is great news. There is still a lot of work to do but it is a big step to replacing JDom. This implements the lightweight JDom parser option from the To Do list which you can view at http://www.ribax.org/wiki/index.php?To%20Do%20List We both liked the idea of the reflection based approach but the slim version of JDom was the easier option to implement at this time. I've got one of those developer urges that is calling out to me to have a go at the reflection based parser because it would be such a cool way to do it and a real challenge. Any news from anyone else ? best regards damian |

Hi Guys I have created an on line demo for RIBAX which you can access at http://www.ribax.org/demo/ I have also zipped up the demo code so you can download it and use it locally to test your code changes. If you don't have them already you will need to download the additional jar files mentioned on this page http://www.ribax.org/tutorial/index.php?part=1&page=requirements The wizard and the streaming demos don't work yet. Let me know if you need anything. regards damian |
