#4 apple lossless encoded files playback static at end of file

My music collection is encoded in Apple lossless format, however when I play back with Rhythmbox I get odd static and clicks when the last second of audio is played. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and Rhythmbox 0.11.5. I am playing back the audio files from an external hard drive.
