Subversion WORKING!

The subversion repository is working... after repeated mistakes and silliness, it's now ready for our developers (and anyone else who wants to take a look) to check out.

Yay!

New Team

Since I heard nothing from any of the old team members in 4 months, I decided that I'd give the project a fresh start. I've just cleared out everyone and I'm looking for new team members.

Back online at last!

I'm back online. Unfortunately, having had my computer placed into storage, I did not have control of the lightning that struck the storage unit my computer was in. As a result, I have lost all of my notes, initial setup files, etc., because the backups were burned along with the HDD and motherboard, as well as all but one of the paper original notes. Thus, we're starting over (not that anyone involved would notice). I am basically creating everything from scratch again, but this time I'm going to need to include everyone.... read more

Help Wanted!

This project is looking for the following positions to be filled:

PHP/MySQL Developers (we're willing to train up to 100)
Project Managers (2)
Doc Writers (3)

1) Communication. You must show a degree of literacy and an ability to communicate effectively in English. While I rather enjoy other languages, English is the language of business in the world, and so is the primary language on which this project will be based.... read more

Fleet Logistics

After much debate with myself about ethics and legalities, I've decided to incorporate some work that I did that the client never paid for and so never received. Fleet logistics portions have been incorporated into the database... and after some fancy footwork, I'm probably going to see about getting PC-Miller mileages (the same kinds of mileages found on road atlases) for the database. The fleet logistics software includes industry-standard CSV functionality (no, I didn't mean CVS, to those who wonder), and a really nice little load matcher that, when operational, would allow truckers to find loads, and those providing loads to find available drivers. This type of load-matching service is on no fewer that 50 sites already, though I've noticed that the bulk of them tend to use CGI/perl rather than PHP in any form (with a couple of very notable exceptions). Adding account expiration data to the fleets_users table will also allow for people to charge drivers, carriers, or both for access to this data, or possibly to allow it for free and charge for other services (configurability of this system is really going to have to be good).... read more

Features

Added database-only support for forums, CRM, accounting, asset-tracking, employee tracking, time and billing, and limited eCommerce support. Considering integration of osCommerce as the eCommerce solution, but not sure how this would fly if I customized it too much and caused a CVS split solely for my project. I may need to simply adapt the code for integration and see what I can do to modularize it.

CAPTCHA images

I'm working on a CAPTCHA-style image generator written purely in PHP that goes beyond the standard damaged image generation (which has been demonstrated to have been bypassed by a computer). Preventing automated logins will decrease the chances that someone could use a program to store and retrieve passwords and automate the theft of money from the system.

Database design updated

I'm gone through and re-thought a lot of the database, and updated it. For some reason, however, my router's giving me problems, so I'm having a problem uploading to CVS (or downloading, for that matter, and I *did* RTFM and there's no misconfiguration that I can see).

Being the only developer on the project, it's looking like about a year of work ahead of me, between doing odd jobs, etc., to keep my head above water.... read more

Basic Database Template Ready

I'm looking for some database people familiar with MySQL to bounce around the ideas of the database design with, but a basic database template is otherwise ready. This exciting first step has taken me three weeks to complete by myself. The database itself is rather complex, and I'm wondering if I haven't made it too complex and heavy.
