RF switch for the Sony Vaio PCG-TR* series. I have a
TR1A which has a hardware switch. I have, however,
installed an internal bluetooth card which did not come
standard on the TR1A model but does on many others in
the series. The hardware switch controls the wifi and
bluetooth. There is a windows centric software switch
so I know that it can be done. The spicctrl program can
turn bluetooth on or off but not the wifi. So as it
stands now I can use wifi, or wifi and bluetooth, or
neither but not just bluetooth. I suspect that the
spicctrl program can be modified to do the job however
I am not a programmer.

Thanks,

Gene

Send me all information and the windows program that
activates the radio. Does this laptop have an Intel
    PRO/Wireless 2100 or 2200?

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/Vaio/Bluetooth/BTD_ASS_100S_UK.exe

Is a link to the software. I will attach if you wish but it
    is 15.2 megs.

The card for this one is the Intel Pro/Wireless 2100.

When the hardware switch is set to off the sonypi module
    generates this:

    sonypi: event port1=0x5a,port2=0x31
    eth1: Association lost.
eth1: RF Kill state changed to radio OFF.

And similary when set to on:

    sonypi: event port1=0x59,port2=0x31
eth1: RF Kill state changed to radio ON.
    eth1: Scheduling firmware restart.
    ipw2100: eth1: Restarting adapter.
    eth1: Using hotplug firmware load.
usb 4-2: new full speed USB device using address 10
ipw2100: Associated with 'xxxxxx' at 11Mbps, channel 7

I don't know what else you need. Give me a hint and I will
    send anything that will help.

    Thanks,

    Gene
