#45 Individual channel selection

It would be nice if you could make a selection in one
channel only with the mouse, perhaps by moving the
pointer towards the top of the left channel or the
bottom of the right, like in Sound Forge. Then effects
would apply just to the selected channel, rather than
having to make your selection in both channels and then
shift-click on the menu item (which is non-obvious and
confusing) to bring up a dialog.

I plan on adding a tab or button on all the action dialogs
that will making it more obvious than shift-clicking.

Well I guess it's a matter of personal preference - the
selection mechanism is more or less the only thing I don't
like about ReZound, but maybe other people prefer it that way.

I just find the Sound Forge style mechanism fits a lot more
with the selection model users are used to (e.g. in Word
etc.) - just click and drag over what you want to select,
THEN choose the operation to apply. No left/right mouse
button confusion, selecting checkboxes to disable channels
etc. Perhaps it would be possible to have an option in
Preferences or something - Selection Mode: Sound Forge,
    ReZound Classic etc.
