Retroarch-openelec is a Kodi/XBMC plugin dedicated to OpenElec system.

OpenELEC is a small Linux based Just Enough Operating System (JeOS) built from scratch as a platform to turn your computer into a Kodi (previously XBMC) media center.

Installation

First, uninstall previous RetroArch version through Kodi Settings->Addons.

There are two ways for installing:

1. Download "full" zip file and install it within Kodi/Xbmc through Settings->Addons->Install from zip file. Be patient, wait until "Retroarch addon activated" is shown. Execute the RetroArch addon from Programs, again, be patient, first run will install and unzip the the retroarch binaries. After a while it shall come up with a nice red GUI.

2. Download "tar.gz" file and "install" script, upload and ssh to OpenElec machine, execute the "install" script. Then install the "plugin" zip file within Xbmc/Kodi.

From the GUI:

1. Run the RetroArch addon from Programs tab.

2. Click Load Core, choose "snes9x next".

3. Click Load Content -> Select File -> snes -> classickong.smc.

4. Exit the game by hitting F1.

From the command line:

~/.kodi/addons/plugin.retroarch/rom.sh snes9x_next ~/retroarch/default/share/rom/snes/classickong.smc
