    [readmefirst]
One can manage his own restaurant by allowing customers to place orders. Administrator can assign staff to deliver orders.

It is a simple HTML/CSS pizza restaurant system that can easily be customized to suite your taste. It can also be used for other types of foods apart from pizza.

More improvement is required in the functionality. Therefore the script is best suited for web developers who want to tweak the code to make it better.

    The customer is able to:
    i. View the various promotions by Pizza-Inn e.g. “Super Tuesday”
ii. View other customers’ ratings(customer satisfaction) of the restaurant
iii. Register if a new customer, including their location
iv. Login to make table reservations or order pizza delivery
    v. Select the type and number of pizza to order
vi. Indicate the time for pizza delivery (It has been altered/All food will be delivered on the ordering date)
vii. Rate the restaurant’s services and/or products (Various Pizzas)

    The administrator is able to:
    i. Login
ii. View reports on number of pizza delivery orders and/or sit reservations in the restaurant
iii. Assign the orders or reservations to particular staff
iv. Set the start and end times for special price orders (promotions)
    v. Send general messages to the customers

NOTE_1: The above funtionalities are not guaranteed. Please improve the script to suite your needs (Throw me a PM if you have any issues).

NOTE_2: Visit the changelog for more information.

NOTE_3: This script is the only totally free, open source online restaurant ordering system available on the internet. Others are free with very limited features while others cost hundreds of dollars to purchase.

Hello. I'm trying to use your script but I am unable to finish the installation. You can give me more details on the steps vi and vii? I have an admin user, I add another? What is the data that should change in the config.php? Sorry for my English, thank you very much

        Hello Esteban;

Thanks for showing interest on our script.

I forgot some few things in the steps:

        i. Create a new database in your database management system. Give it any name you like i.e. pizza, restaurant, whatever.

ii. Open the database that you've just created. Then import the file as specified in steps iii and iv above.

iii. If everything is okay. Add an admin record in the table "pizza_admin" within your new database. You will use this account to access the administration side of the script as seen in the demo.

iv. Edit the config.php files found in both the members area and the administration area to fit your server configurations i.e. database name, username, password, and host name. For example: pizza_db, root, root, and localhost respectively. Again, this information will depend on your server configuration. Normally Xampp or Wamp will use localhost as a host name; username: root; and password: empty ("").

If you're still having problems, please write the actual error or problem that you're getting.

Hi, I managed to install the script, and added a admin user in table pizza_admin
I managed to enter into the app and add a memeber, navigate trhu pages...
but as soon as I try to go to the admin script, I enter the admin data and then an error appears:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/pizzari/public_html/PDP/admin/login-exec.php on line 15
Failed to connect to server: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Could you please help me out?
      thanks!!!!

It is my passion to keep our script alive and up-to-date. And I'm hoping it is YOUR passion as well. Please take ONLY 5 minutes of your 24 hours TODAY to look into the Donation links above and see where you'll fit-in best.

If you have any kind of query or doubt concerning OUR script, Donations, or any other part of this project, please feel free to post it here or PM me, I will gladly assist you in every possible way I can.

What admin account exactly? Are you referring to my script or you are asking a general question?

    Bruce Whealton - 2013-07-03

Hello, I am writing about the PizzaInn Restaurant script. It is great to find something like this that is open source. I'll gladly help with the improvements I'd like to see. Maybe you thought of these. I have a Mexican restaurant and I have an example of a Steak Dinner for 11.99. Ok, there is also the option to Add Shrimp for 3.50 more. I want to show the Steak dinner with the option to add shrimp or not add shrimp when placing the order.
Number two is that the client doesn't have photos for each plate. The script seems to require photos with each food item. Maybe we want to add it for some items but let it be optional. So, before entering data into the database, we need a way to put in a default value of an empty string if there is no photo entered.
    Thanks,
    Bruce
Please contact me for updates and how I can help. Are you on github.com? Let me know how I can help with features, and other coding updates. For example, the Password field cannot be used. I tried that and got an error from PHP or MySQL saying it was a reserved word. So, I changed it to pass and it worked. Also, we should use MD5 encoding on it.
Thanks again, please write back... I need this for my client's Mexican Restaurant.
    Bruce

      Hi Bruce;

Thank you very much for your interest on our script. I'm in and out of github. I have not really set myself up on github but I'll try my best to fully be on github so we can collaborate more efficiently and productively.
Thanks for your feature suggestions. They can easily be implemented into the system.
      i. A mix of food items can be added into an order before the final ordering process.
ii. Replacing an empty photo with a default string (instead of an empty string) can be used as you suggested.
iii. SHA1 or md5 can be implemented in the administration login. I was lazy on this part. But I did it with the members login. Therefore it can easily be added.
iv. I also have other features on my side. I will add yours and mine in the next release of the script.

      Am I missing something Sir?

        Hello,
I think this covers everything. I'll have to spend time looking at the code to see how things work. I'm a bit of a newbie on github in that I sometimes get confused about when it is good to fork a repo, or do a pull request, or just clone the script. I do have the script though and will work with the code locally. I agree that for collaboration, github (unless one is into SVN) is necessary.

Actually, I did come up with some additional features that we could add. Before I go on, I'll say that I am impressed with what you did.

Other future features, I'd like to see, now that I think about it... #1) Using a framework like Zurb Foundation or twitter Bootstrap, might help in creating responsive site. #2) Perhaps JQuery Mobile, Phonegap for creating a different look for smartphones and tablets. Or #3) a more native Android, iOS and Windows Phone, tablet Apps. I guess we'd need an API for grabbing the data from the db and getting back JSON data (JSON or XML, not sure which would work best with the Android SDK or other SDK's for Mobile platforms.

I think you were in my mind!

I was thinking exactly the same thing especially the native mobile app opportunity.

I will start to work on the mobile versions of both the client and the admin as soon as the desktop version becomes more stable and attractive. I will first create a github repository for both the desktop and the mobile versions so that developers will start contributing code snippets and other changes.

You can also go ahead and do the same. Only the sky is the limit when it comes to open source software development.

I will communicate updates via this wiki.

Thanks again for your continuous support.
