i am trying to clone my internal HD to an external drive without much success, trying to make the clone bootable .
My laptop currently is running Linux Mint on a 320Gb drive and running out of room. I have a 512Gb SSD I would like to clone and make bootable to replace the 320. I have flashed a USB with Rescuezilla rebooted and using the Clone tool have cloned the 320 drive to the 512 SSD no issue so far. Now the problem is after swapping the drives my laptop wont boot and get a message about entering recue mode(?) and get a line that says GRUB> what do i do from here? I am not a whizz kid (70yo) ......

any advise would be greatfully received.

    Adrian

You could use something like the Super Grub Disk to boot into the system and then run the necessary commands to update Grub.

Yes, there is a way to do it manually, but I haven't done that in a number of years.
