I am booting FileZilla (v. 2.6.1) from a USB flash drive, on an HP Prodesk desktop computer. It loads as far as the language choice screen, then stops, with the message: "Error: bad shim signature", followed by a second message: "Error: You need to load the kernel first". Is this a faulty flash drive? a problem with my hardware? A problem with my original download? (it has been working fine for the past 6 months.) or a problem with RescueZilla itself on my particular machine? What is the best way to fix it? (New USB stick and fresh download??)

I've only got this report once before (https://github.com/rescuezilla/rescuezilla/issues/499), but given it's an existing USB stick, I suspect it may be related to a revoked UEFI secure boot signature (https://github.com/rescuezilla/rescuezilla/issues/525) that happens when Windows Update updates the minimum secure boot version.

On this machine you could (temporarily) disable Secure Boot.

If this suggestion is accurate then the next version of Rescuezilla should have updated secure boot signatures to work with the latest Windows update.

The computer is running Linux Mint, so Windows would not really have an opportunity to muck with the UEFI secure boot signature. But I was able to boot into RescueZilla from another USB stick. I think the actual problem was a faulty USB stick, with a corrupt file system. I have re-burned the iso to the stick, and Balena Etcher checked the burn and pronounced it accurate.. But I have not yet checked it, and I rather think it might be wisest to simply get a new usb stick anyway.
