Subject: Can't backup my Dell Latitude 5440 laptop
Message: Recently I downloaded Rescuezilla and then used BalenaEtcher to "install" it on to a couple 128GB USB's. I watched a video on how to use this and it seems simple enough but I've run into a problem.
I'm trying to backup a Dell Latitude 5440 laptop. It's basically brand new. It only has a few programs installed to help with machine maintenance and to connect with drives to diagnose. After getting the laptop to boot from USB (and fighting with Safe BIOS, BitLocker, and Secure Boot) I click on backup and the only source drive listed is the USB I'm booting from. Even with I show hidden devices it shows /dev/loop0 at only 1GB and and 16 other /dev/nbd## devices at 0B. I'm not tech savvy enough to know what any of that means. I can build a computer and follow instrustions but I never took any college classes or training on anything deeper.
I feel like there's a lot of red tape on the laptop since it came from Dell and who knows what's installed on it to make this harder. I haven't tried to use the USB to backup anything else, the process seems nearly idiot proof.
Is there something on this laptop that's preventing be from backing it up, or am I missing something?
I'll try to keep my eye on this post when I can but my work days are Monday - Thursday.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
