Network backup takes a very long time

    Hello,
I have had this problem for some time but since upgrading to version
2.4.1 I have had massive problems with backing up data over the
    network to a Synology NAS.

    I have a Linux/Windows multiboot system on a 500GB SSD. It just
happens too often that the backup runs and runs and runs, at more
than 4 hours I abort! The backup would run for days, I once had more
than 10 hours for the SSD.

    The drive has 4 partitions:
    NTFS (Win10) - swap - Ubuntu root - Ext4 file system

Sometimes the backup runs through in under 2 hours, but often the
backup hangs and the time runs up. Then nothing happens on the network.

A data backup WITHOUT the Windows partition has always worked smoothly.

When I do the same backup with Clonezilla there is never any
problem! But I don't like Clonezilla, I would like to stay with
    Rescuezilla.
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks and greetings!

    1. Turn OFF encryption when doing the backup.
    2. Use a WIRED network connection (Not WiFi).

I can backup 350GB of data (1TB Drive) on my laptop to my router's NAS Drive (1Gb WIRED Network) using Rescuezilla 2.50 in around 1.5 hours. (Laptop is a Ryzen 3 laptop so it's not a powerhouse).

Encryption will slow it down sigificantly...And above all don't use WiFi for large backups.

Disregard what I said about encryption...I meant to say turn OFF COMPRESSION...
Rescuezilla doesn't have a encryption option (Doh!).

Yep, if making a backup to a destination over the network, using a wired network connection is a great idea.

Compression settings certainly also impact the speed, and switching off compression is a great idea for systems with low CPU processor speeds!
